Considérée comme une menace pour le projet, Veronica est traqué par une bande d'Uni-Sol dont l'un d'entre eux, Luc Deveraux, décide de prendre sa défense. Contrairement à ses compagnons d'armes, il semble avoir une conscience et des réminiscences de celui qu'il était. Le couple est immédiatement traqué par une escouade d'Uni-Sol avec à leur tête Andrew Scott, un sergent sadique abattu par Deveraux durant la Guerre du Vietnam et depuis ressuscité...
